About the Role

The Senior Vice President, Operations & Development oversees the region’s operational performance and real estate development strategy. This role ensures excellence in day-to-day operations, profitable store performance, and disciplined expansion across corporate and franchise markets. You’ll partner with franchisees and internal teams to optimize operations, accelerate market growth, and uphold the brand standards that define Five Guys globally.

Key Responsibilities

• Development & Real Estate

  • Lead execution of the regional real estate strategy across Europe, MENA, and APAC.

  • Define market priorities, pipeline targets, and development performance metrics.

  • Oversee site selection, evaluation, and approval for corporate and franchise locations.

  • Guide and develop regional Real Estate Managers/Directors.

  • Lead corporate lease negotiations and manage the entire lease portfolio.

  • Provide strategic input to franchise partners on market entry and site standards.

  • Collaborate cross-functionally to ensure timely, cost-efficient store openings.

  • Prepare analyses, deal summaries, and market reports for Real Estate Committee review.

• Operations

  • Drive day-to-day operational performance to achieve sales and profitability targets.

  • Support budget preparation and uphold high standards of communication and accountability.

  • Build and scale strong field support structures across diverse markets.

  • Ensure franchisees receive the direction, resources, and partnership needed for operational excellence.

  • Act as the primary contact for franchisees across the region.

Experience & Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree - or level of thinking - in Real Estate, Business, Finance, or related field required; Master’s preferred.

• 10+ years in retail real estate development and franchise expansion across multiple markets.

• 10+ years of restaurant operations experience with direct leadership responsibilities.

• Proven success in market strategy, pipeline management, site selection, and lease negotiation.

• Strong financial acumen, including ROI analysis and deal modeling.

• Experience navigating a global matrix environment and leading cross-functional teams.

• Familiarity with construction and facilities management.

• Ability to travel 60%–70%.

• Fluency in English (verbal and written); additional languages are a plus.
